AMT Announces Move of Concert Series to East Fairmont High School for 2018
PRESS RELEASE: October 26, 2017
The American Mountain Theater, now AMT PRODUCTIONS, is moving its star-studded Southern Gospel and Bluegrass Concert Series to Fairmont, West Virginia for 2018. The 2018 series will be the tenth anniversary year for these highly successful concerts featuring national recording artists and we are excited to announce the new venue. The 2018 concerts will be held at the East Fairmont High School Auditorium located at 1993 Airport Road, Fairmont, WV 26554. This new venue is conveniently located only 1.25 miles from Interstate 79. The auditorium is a beautiful 814 seat facility with comfortable seating and a large theater style stage. This is about 300 seats larger than the previous venue in Elkins, West Virginia, and as a result, more people will be able to comfortably enjoy seeing these national stars. We also believe that this new venue will bring the concerts closer to many of the fans who have been traveling to Elkins for the past 9 years.
All of the artists featured in the series are regular participants on Bill Gaither’s “Homecoming TV Shows and Concerts” and also on the RFD’s “Country’s Family Reunion” television show. All the concerts are on Sunday afternoons at 2:30 P.M. which is one hour earlier than past years. Tickets for all shows will go on sale by November 15, 2017 and may be purchased online or by phone.
The series will kick off on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:30 pm with Country Music Hall of Fame member, Jimmy Fortune, former tenor singer of the Statler Brothers. In the past years, Jimmy has sold out quicker than any other artist and we expect the same thing again. On May 22, 2018, Jeff and Sheri Easter, will make a return visit to the Series. Folks love the group’s country style family harmony and the comedy antics of Jeff Easter. They were the first group to sell out a show on their first trip to AMT back in 2009.
After the summer break, August 19, 2018 will bring fan favorites, The Hoppers, for their ninth consecutive year in a row. Truly, they are America’s Favorite Family of Gospel Music and almost always fill the building to capacity.
On September 16, 2018, the greatly loved family group, The Isaacs, will return for their 10th year in a row to AMT. They are the only group to have been in the AMT Series all ten years. Their vocals and musicianship are the best in any genre.
On October 14, 2018, Bluegrass Hall of Fame member, Doyle Lawson, along with his group Quicksilver, will return for the 8th time to Series. Folks love Doyle and his traditional style bluegrass and Gospel music that he brings to AMT.
On November 4, 2018, Rhonda Vincent and The Rage return to the Series after a three year break. Rhonda and her group The Rage have won more awards in the Bluegrass field than any other group or entertainer. Her live show is amazing and folks have been asking for her return, so as a result, she is coming back!
The 2018 series wraps up on December 9, 2018 with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound presenting their Christmas Show. Ernie’s Christmas Show is the best Christmas production that you can see anywhere in the country. You don’t want to miss it!
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale by November 15th, 2017 and may be purchased online at www.americanmountaintheater.com or by calling 1-800-943-3670. All seats are reserved, so get your tickets early for the best seats. Tickets are priced at adult, senior and group rates and prices range from $23 to $30 plus the 6% WV sales tax.
